World Poker Tour Announces “Asia Swing”
This was published 25-07-2018The World Poker Tour enjoyed a successful festival at the World Poker Tour New Zealand and is now planning an “Asia Swing” with stops in Japan, Korea, Vietnam and India.
The best performing player across the first three stops will win a package which includes buy-in and accommodation to the World Poker Tour India Main Event. Furthermore, all four stops are eligible for the World Poker Tour Asia-Pacific Player of the Year competition.
Commencing with World Poker Tour Japan, the Asia Swing will run from 15th to 17th September 2018 in Tokyo followed by the World Poker Tour Korea at Paradise City Casino in Incheon, South Korea from 18th to 24th September 2018.
The World Poker Tour will hold their first-ever Teams Event in Korea between 19th and 21st September 2018. The $5,000 buy-in event is capped at 16 teams, each made up of four players with each country having a maximum of one team. The teams will square off against one another in up to six events which include variations of both no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha. The winning team will be awarded World Poker Tour Korean Main Event entries for each member.
The countries that have already confirmed include Australia, Hong Kong (captained by Sparrow Cheung), Japan, Malaysia, Singapore (captained by Bryan Huang), the United States, China, India, South Korea, New Zealand and United Kingdom (captained by Sam Razavi).
The World Poker Tour Vietnam will be held at the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh from 26th September to 4th October 2018, featuring a VND 22 million buy-in (approximately $1,000 USD) and VND 8 billion ($345,000 USD) Main Event from 28th September to 2nd October 2018. There will also be a VND 44 million ($2,000) High Roller and a VND 11 million ($500) three-day World Poker Tour Pro Club Superstack Classic.
World Poker Tour India is scheduled to take place at the Deltin Royale Casino in Goa with the partnership of Adda52 from 13th to 19th November 2018 with the stop offering an INR 55,000 ($800) buy-in Main Event from 16th to 19th November 2018 as well as High Roller, Superstack, Bounty and Shootout events. The inaugural World Poker Tour India drew 527 runners last year and saw Vikash Manti being the winner of $92,000.
