PokerStars to Trial New Multi-Tabling Limit in Italy
This was published 17-07-2018The Stars Group has revealed that, following frequent complaints of a number of players taking too long to act when playing a cash game, it has devised a plan to minimize such delays.
Online poker cannot be much fun if, while playing a cash game and enjoying the speed of the game that internet poker affords, one player at the table continues to run out their time bank as the other players at the table lose precious poker time, resulting in fewer hands per hour.
The Stars Group is acutely aware of how frustrating it must be when players are trying to grind out ten tables at a time when there are moments when a decision at one table takes players’ attention away from the others and is endeavouring to minimize such delays.
Following the Company’s recent trial introduction of ‘Seat Me’, PokerStars began testing another new feature on Tuesday, 17th July 2018: limiting multi-tabling to six tables max.
Severin Rasset, Director of Poker Innovation and Operations at Stars Group, explained that both Seat Me and the company’s new multi-table limit are a way of carrying out the company’s main goal of making games on the site as viable as possible. That goal can be achieved by creating an atmosphere where the game is fun, fast and enjoyable for all.
The six-table max limitation will apply to regular cash games, while the current limits for Zoom and other games will continue to remain the same.
Rasset also revealed that 99.7% of their players already play six tables or fewer at a time. The Stars Group feels that the change will help speed up games and improve the overall poker experience for customers.
Stars will collect data during the trial period, in order to compare changes in deviation from average time to act, looking at players who go from playing more than six tables at a time to six or fewer. Player feedback will also be considered in their research so as to help determine if the change is a positive one for the games and players on the whole.
It is hoped that the six-table max limitation will lead to fewer long delays at the tables.
