Basic Texas Hold’em Rules

Texas Hold’em Poker is an online card game, which uses community cards and can be played by between two and ten players.
The game has several rules and regulations but these are the ten basic rules it boils down to. Remember that although the game can seem complicated when you are getting started, it’s not nearly as bad as it looks.

1. When playing Texas Hold’em Poker, one player is the dealer for every hand. The dealer position is also referred to as ‘the button’ and moves clockwise with one position for every hand.
2. After the dealer or button position, if you move to the left, you will first get the small blind position and then the big blind. Most people don’t like in being in either two of the ‘blind’ positions as you are forced to make bets here before the cards are dealt and without having seen any of the other player’s moves. This is only the case if there is no ante in place.
3. The players then get their face down cards, also called hole cards.
4. After this, the betting begins with the player to the left of the big blind. The player in this position can decide whether he or she wants to fold, call, or raise. Every person gets the opportunity to make this decision in a clockwise circle.
5. After this round of betting, the game comes to the flop, where 3 community cards are turned around to be face up and in plain view.
6. It’s now time for the second betting round, starting with the person to the left of the dealer. Every person gets a chance to check, bet, call or fold.
7. After this round of betting, it’s time for the turn, when a 4th community card is revealed.
8. It’s now time for the third betting round, starting with the person to the left of the dealer.
9. After this round of betting, it’s time for the river, when a 5th community card is revealed.
10. It’s now time for the forth betting round, starting with the person to the left of the dealer. Betting continues in a clockwise fashion.
